Win7 Upgrades

Touchscreen is not all its cracked up to be its window dressing and is pretty much worthless to most.

As for the negative feedback for win7 I would assume most of it is from the people who either bought vista and now need to buy win7 or from the users who use XP and think its the bests thing in the world and anyone that would change is retarded.(aka those afraid of change)

I have a PC with XP and I have a PC with Vista. I have no problems ever with XP and have tons of problems with Vista. I prefer XP over Vista because I'm afraid of change? No, I prefer XP over Vista because it's BETTER and it uses less resources.

I was an XP person too until I tried 7. My laptop has Vista and I fucking hate it...but I've been using Win 7 RC for a few months, and absolutely love it.

I swear today was the first time I tried Windows 7 and it totally blows XP (and of course that piece of shit Vista) right out of the water. I am serious. I was doing my usual wipe and load that I do about once a year, or so and decided to try it. I don't want to go back to XP that is how good it is.

Im now using 64bit Windows 7, full version with Activation key.

Love it!, took a while to get all my drivers on etc, as they wernt all compatible. but damn, its awesome.

These are all "Windows 7" they need to be downloaded to the same directory, ten unzip 'part 1' and you'll get a .ISO file...
you need to mount that onto a blank DVD.

While you are installing, DO NOT put an activation code in, and make sure you UNTICK the "activate windows automatically online"

Then once your at the desktop, run this,

it will reboot the comp, and thats it, fully activated + windows update works.

It will be slow to download unless you purchase a premium Rapidshare though, but 9$ gets you a month... and 9$ for a lifetime copy of windows 7 64bit ultimate... worth it imo !

the loader cracks get black listed pretty fast in Win7 so if you are going that route you might want to just use it till actual release then upgrade to a legit copy.

Loving Windows 7.. seems to be the best OS so far for memory utilization and handling, allows me to 5 box on my PC without any problems at all.

However I still can't get anything to work like Windows Desktop Search for Win XP and as such for my work laptop have gone back to XP

only thing im not fond of, is when i use MSN (Microsoft Live Messenger) it stays on the task bar like a proper application, and not minimised to the bottom right like on previous versions of windows.

Am i missing a small trick? =p

I don't use MSN, but for google talk if you just minimize it, it stays on taskbar. You have to actually click the "X" like your closing it. but it won't close, instead it goes to system tray. Maybe try that?

I got a copy of Win 7 and I put on 2 of our computers so far, it's pretty nice. I want to put it on my computer, but how can I save my stuff off my computer?

If you have enough space or an extra hard drive you can always make a dual boot. Otherwise you will need to back up the important data before installing.
