SK Swarming and could use some suggestions

I recently took my level 80 SK out of mothballs to try this Swarming stuff and been working on the AAs to be able to do this.

Well my problem is when I round up 10 or so it takes me so long to kill 1 light blue mob (LBM) to get Mortal Coil to proc if it does that then the epic has run out and I am left getting my tail kicked by 8 or so mobs left.

For those that know how this works what am I doing wrong?

I do have Epoc 2.0, I have trained alot of the Swarming needed AAs but not all, still working on them. Been trying to up my 2Hand weapon damage so I can kill them faster and its still slow to kill one. By time I have killed 2 or 3 LBMs the Damage Shield has brought the rest down so low that they die faster which is good.

But I sure as heck can not be pulling 100 LBMs and expect to live if I can not get Coil to proc more often. I do not use a pet cause you have to get the final kill shot for Coil to even have a chance to fire off.

Any help would be appreciated.

I kinda gave up on VoA zones cause the named are just to hard and figured I would play with the SK for now. MY Box team is 7 toons, all 95 and a 95 Warrior with 2500 AAs and 8003 AC and still them named kick her butt even with 3 Merc Healers on reactive and my own 95 Cleric on her. The Warrior still dies at times. VoA has be totally baffled.

Well I just tried Plane of Fire, all light blues in the back of zone, front they are green. I only pulled 10 or so of them as a test and I have a hell of a time getting Coil to go off to keep me up cause I kill to slow.

Just picked up a new weapon 155/36 over the Epic 94/37, will see how that helps.

As far as where I was hunting I was in Beast Domain, since all mine have HoT tier 4 gear, only the tier 3 zones in VoA are worth it to me really.

I did not try a Merc Tank cause some of them named you have to position them so the AE does not get the rest of yours and I never am any good at making a merc move around where I want them to face.

Maybe when I go back out and do BD again I will try a Merc J5 Tank and see what happens, maybe my Warrior is just not ACd high enough, only has 8003 fully buffed with defensive skills on during fight.

I swarmed up to 75 or 80, i can't remember. The key is your 2hs DPS, if you can't burn down mobs fast enough, use HT or a BP clicky along with your combat abilities. every little bit helps. if you see another mob closer to dying in your XTarget, switch targets and beat on them.

if you have a cleric
out of grp use retort and armor buffs (its a line)

pet tanks can do the job up to t4 voa grp named, so can tank mercs, u still need to dps, using merc or pet tanks i usually range kill (avoiding aes for the most part)

Some mobs are easier than others.

10 mobs = not a swarm

the key for swarming is the more the merrier

they die to riposte and keep u healed as you proc taps (and more if u have those cleric buffs i mentioned)

I'd like to take advantage on this topic, I have an 80 sk aswell, 3500 aa's maxed and the best gear a level 80 can have, including weapon, where would y'all recommend me to swarm?

I am a level 80 SK with 751 AAs, just started to try and figure this Swarming stuff out about 3 days ago. Got 150 AAs in last few days and made sure to put them all into the skills I was told are for swarming. But yes I am sure I have a long ways to go. Can't post my magelo here for obvious reasons. But I have MC, TotC, SA, KA, SotK, and working on others but those are maxed for level 80 at least.

Gear is only HoT Tier 1, but I have 4011 AC and 40k HP

I tried swarming in PoF but the experience is not that great as I only get about 10% a kill and I was only pulling about 10 mobs at a time cause with old weapon I was having a hard time killing them to keep MC up. New weapon is much better, but have not tried again.

I was told Thalasius Coral Keep was a good spot, but AA exp there was again only about 10-12% a kill. Or is this all I can expect doing LBMs? Seems I can go to a dark blue zone and have monk beat them down and FD for me to finish off then beat on a bunch of light blues for a few minutes each.

Unless you have a far superior 2h weapon compared to 1h... buy yourself shield specialist aa and use sword and board for mitigation, the dps to be compared is not noticed.

10% a kill isn't bad when you consider you're supposed to pull half of the zone...

This is a link to the SK forums. They have ALOT of info on swarming. Be forewarned though, they seem to be getting tired of all of the "How and where do I swarm" posts. Search and read alot before asking questions.

At level 80 you should be in Plane of Fire doing C2, until you get around 2000 aa's, then time to move onto 85, then you can start doing Valdeholm.

851 aa's is awfully low, even if they are in the areas of swarming, because most likely you are missing offensive aa's to kill the mobs quick enough, I can tell you from personal experience, if rng is being rough, it takes me sometimes 10 mobs before i get a MC, but considering my offensive abilities are max aa's i have no trouble doing about 15 to 20 before my epic runs out. Dont forget to use fast dots put two or three on about 3 or 4 mobs, then concentrate on one and get it dead. Also make sure your max at spell casting reinforcement, as this will increase the time of your epic, visage and other useful things! Make sure you have Damage shield on you, Mage is best, add a distillate of skinspikes, if you don't have a cloak that has ds on it. Also make sure you have umbral skin on.

Those who say use 1hs over 2 hs have definitely never had 150 mob swarms on them, I can tell you 100% that if i use 1hs with a huge swarm, I cannot keep up, toss in the 2hs can fall asleep at the wheel!! Tanking a named mob, yup I will be sword and board, trash mobs 2hs.

I do not even remember what C2 is in the PoF. I know the first area is all green to me and when I go over the wall into that fort it turns light blue. So I assume C2 must be either there or at the Tables.

also you can cheat a little as well, kill till you get an mc proc then go grab your swarm, then you will have part of a mc and epic to work with till you get your next mc proc.

Another important tip, if you have two or 3 mobs left with little hps, let them be and go grab your next group, once set up kill the 2 or mobs you brought with you to get your next mc proc.

another tip, if you have a box bard or a friend who has a bard. Do like he said kill a few to get MC proc'd and while your doing that have your bard friend run around pulling a pile then kiting until you get MC to proc. Then he can drop it on you and go get your more. THen you don't even have to move!
