internet connect

hey was wondering if anyone could help me get the internet back up and running. i just formated my hard drive. and i cant get the cable modem to work on it. i went to network connections. right clicked local area connection and went to properties. clicked microsoft internet protocol tcp/ip then hit properties again. put a dot in obtain ip address automatically. the local area connetion says its connected but when you click it the activity is 0sent 0received. If anyone could help me id greatly apprecaite it thanks

Did you reinstall ethernet drivers? I know my nforce board won't work without them for me.

i reinstalled all the disk i had not sure if it was in them guess ill look through them and see if i see it

Right Click My Computer > Properties> Hardware Tab> Device Manager. Is there anything with a red X or yellow exclamation point beside it?

yes there was i finally found all the right drivers and got it fix thanks a ton!
