Your point about labor automation may or may NOT be true. Who knows? A scientist once said a flying vehicle is a physical impossibility and then other scientists predicted we'd all be trolling around in personal airplanes by 1985. Who the "F" knows. I do know that I try to live in the "here and now" where Amazon is progressively driving brick-n-mortar vendors, small, medium, large and humongous, out of business, and there isn't any chance a program of universal basic income is going to be instituted in time to offset the damage that will be done to Retail America by this development.
Sure, I buy thru Amazon. Call me a hypocrite. We each make the most efficient decisions for our own welfare. Unfortunately, those who are supposed to be looking out for everyone's welfare, our "leaders", such as they are... unfortunately they usually just look out for their own welfare as well.
