So is there something im missing about this item? 2% lifetap from damage per hit. Seems almost useless. Anyone mind enlightening me via reply or PM?

it's useless. Unless you're a zerker using it on a burn (2%) of 300k/s is still like a 6k heal per second or 36k HOT in comparison the shaman HOT is 6k. So for extra healing on your burn to survive AEs/rampage it helps especially on dead hills 1.

Assuming this is a proc, you can only proc ONCE per combat round, regardless of weapon procs, buffs etc, is my understanding. Not accounting for a twin proc, so basically useless yah.

thats actually incorrect

samanthana (shaman site) had it broke down how procs work

buffs and weapon/aug procs are independant of each other not sure if there is a 3rd independent proc check

weapon proc is checked if not made then an aug check is made

It works the same as SK epic click.

It is not a proc. In fact it cannot be a proc for the simple reason that the heal will never be the same for each hit.

I've healed myself for 200k on a 45s bonecrusher parse using it.

So why is it useless? Won't replace a healer, sure, but extra healing is usually never a bad thing.

For a free clicky its not bad. I have one on my main and use it on raids.

Its not much but if your healers dead and your next ... pop the healing pot / this and whatever else you have.
