Then that, of course, brings in a whole bunch of other questions. You aren't born with tattoo's, piercings, body augmentations, but people have those as well.
The human race is a melting pot of conforming ritualists. To single out one specific idea or practice among the many is ignoring the fact that most of everything we do is to either fit in or "go with the flow". "You're unique and original just like everyone else."
I would say let the parents decide and do not provide any outside pressure one way or the other. The point at which we all believe it is our place to provide unsolicited advice is the point that I check out of the conversations.
I have two tattoo's, the difference is as a person. I am allowed to make that choice, based on MY life experiences. Both are symbolic to things in my life I never wish to be without. Internal beauty and loyalty.
Now when you get something forced on you at birth because parents are sheep. With no say? No thanks. Medically the process is not an issue to perform later in life. They do it at birth originally for religious reasons.
The whole fit in or go with the flow is what is killing this nation. The fact people are complacent about is makes me rage inside with a burning that can not go away.
