Guys I just figured out that 2 of my 4 slots for my RAM is working. Is there a way to reactivate the other 2 slots? Looking at it from the side it's the far right 2 slots that are working fine. Thanks for any help.

the ram chips may have just gone bad

All work fine in last 2 spots, I tested each to make sure of that.

RAM slots are funny things to mess with. It's normally a game of trial and error to get all 4 ram slots working at once when you have different types of ram.

Fry.

Rule of thumb works like this:
Slots 1 & 3 have to match.
Slots 2 & 4 have to match.
Slots 1 & 3 have to be populated before 2 & 4.
Never mix ECC & non-ECC.
Never mix single sided & dual sided RAM.
If the stick have different speeds, lowest wins.
>3Gb can only be used by natively by a 64-bit motherboard, and a 64-bit OS.

What are the 4 sticks you're trying to use, and what motherboard are you using them in?

uno mas....xp itself only recognizes up to 4g. this includes cache.
