um the fix for bards using twist is to edit your twist ini and you should have some like 13 through 19, you put your buffs in there twist will check higher numbers once every couple cycles so can add clicky item into your twist that way and as soon as they drop next twist pulse should twist in your item, or setup a holyshit/downshit to check for the buff, and if its missing to /twist pause cast your item then resume your twist, can also cast alt act in there too.

I'll probably just write an assisting script to handing skill activation since MQ2Melee is reeree about it.

I'm currently not using any script, only MQ2Melee. The plugin won't activate the bards AA stuff while a /twist is active. I'm going to use a script to activate them rather then relying on MQ2Melee. I'll probably end up moving all my melee off of MQ2Melee. Feel like I can script it better.
 
Have you checked to see if it works with UseTwist set to on? /melee usetwist=on save

It seems to stupid to be stopped as a bard to have clickies fire or having to stop so instant cast items will run.

I think that is where the frustration is at with bards running /twist. Even though you can cast most aa instantly (while twisting) the plug in only attempts to do so in between song casts. Which is why I think I'm seeing the spotty skill / aa activation. usetwist didn't change anything that I could see.
 
htw might know more but I think mq2melee uses mq2cast.

Maybe we can get mq2cast modified for mmobugs to remove the movement check for it. Or add an option to remove it.
 
You're basically right about MQ2Cast. The plugins that utilize MQ2Cast functions (via slash command and TLO), and/or the ones that use the exported function call and call it in code directly, usually rely on MQ2Cast to determine the feasibility of that cast.

For example, MQ2Melee calls it to handle them in general. There are a couple I override and manage within the plugin, but it uses MQ2Cast for the most part on spells and items.

It gets a little convoluted dealing with all the possibilities and interaction between some plugins, with bards (MQ2Melee, MQ2Cast, MQ2Twist).

MQ2Bot is great, but my view on most plugins, is if they should and can use a different plugin then they should, not do it themselves (such as MQ2Melee using MQ2MoveUtils for movement/sticking, MQ2Cast for casting). That means if something needs changed or fixing, you deal with that sub plugin, and not have to fix the same code repeated in various other plugins. We do the same thing with coding, i.e., if you find yourself repeating code, or might use it/repeat it later, make it a function - don't just copy/paste all that repetitive code all over and have to change/fix it multiple times later (or even copy/paste it again if you want to use it again).

Anyway, I digress...

I went ahead and set up a cast switch/command, to ignore movement - keep in mind this is just a starting point, and we'll have to figure out where/what goes wrong. Use the debug commands (/castdebug, /meleedebug, /twist debug) to help you see messages (and mq2log if needed to review them, or share them here).

The command is: /castmove

That will toggle bard movement beta on/off, so let's see if/what it does for you for now, and I can go from there.

Would that work with other classes that have instant cast clickies and aa's?
 
I'll try and get some logs to you tomorrow. There is a clear difference in debug logs when twist is on and twist is off. Get a lot of "distracted" spam when twist is on.
 
Stormwheel blade

Trying to figure out why my warrior keeps activating stormwheel blades on multiple mob pulls. Its breaking mez frequently. I dont see any references for it in the server_charname ini, also the bot mac has no reference to it either, any ideas? I checked the wiki and don't see any references to that disc ... help appreciated
