Inspect loot question

I've heard there is a way to see loot that is on a mob, while it's still alive. I'm searching everywhere and can't find anything on it. Is this just a rumor? Sry if this is a noob question, i'm new to mq.

Not possible. Other than some old-school mobs where weapon might be visible when equipped, there is no way to pre-determine or inspect loot.

Thanks. I'm actually glad this can't be done lol.. I thought people might have been using it on raids to start planning bids early.

Yeah, a long time ago. I remember being able to see if a light wisp had a burned out lightstone, a regular lightstone or a greater lightstone. Was nice then. . .

i think around GoD or earlier show EQ using lynux had that ability, its been long dead from what i understand.

i believe they changed the loot so it generates at time of death..not spawn.

Loot still generates at spawn minus task-related objectives. The trick used to be to turn an NPC into a PC client-side and then inspect it.
