Check out tiger directs AMD 6 core processors, I grabbed one cheap and its amazing

You're already paying 300+ for the processor, go to ivy bridge, and change the mb to something with z77, otherwise nice build have fun with it

For EQ boxing purposes the AMD 6 core or 8 core works better since hyperthreading doesn't mean anything to this game. If you are building for other games, I would go with the i7.

Personally, I'd drop the i7 2700k for an i5 2500k and use the savings to upgrade your mushkin 128gb SSD to a crucial M4 256gb SSD.

How about the cooling system? I know how to set up the intake / outtake fans for the case. But is that CPU fan going to cut it, and do I need something for the video card?

Out of curiosity, why the Ivy bridge over the sandy bridge?

Not sure if you have a MicroCenter near you but they usually have the i5's and i7's (279) cheaper than anyone plus they will knock 50 bucks off a motherboard if you buy one to go with the new processor. Seems like a pretty solid deal.
