Madelyn is after a computer for under $600 that can run Vanguard decent. Madelyn doesn't need a keyboard or mouse, but maybe a monitor.

I don't live in the US so buying one in the US isn't my thing but heres what I came up with.

Let's hear it for ugly cases!

Can save $40 on the case. All you really need is a good power supply. The case sits under your desk anyway!

You can pay 70$ just for a good power supply so 100$ for both isnt that bad tbh. If your going to go cheap the PSU is one thing you dont want to do that on. As lack of power is one of the leading causes for hardware failures.

<- buys nothing but PC P&C PSUs now. NEVER had a single problem with them either.
 
Full Comp under 600

I bought my brother a Emachine from walmart amd athlon 64 only thing i did for him was put in a video card and another 512 stick of ram and he can 4 box on eq using wineq 3 box comfortably with out win eq. So im pretty sure that should support vanguard. I think total i put into his comp was some where around $640 USD.
 
The PC I am on atm I can 6 box eq with very little lag, in alot of areas in VG I will go from 35fps to 5fps. Comparing EQ and VG is not even relivent.

Wait till March buy a new PC and by that time you should be able to get a more realistic idea of what hardware is actually working good with VG.

Switch the screen to 17 inc lcd. you can save about 45 dollars.
then you can switc the video card to 7300 and save about 9 dollars. case and ps should never cost more then 70 in total.
 
Link some Case/PSU that are 400-450 PSU none ATX that are sub 70$

Go with a Core2 Intel System - they are currently the market leader and shit all over anything AMD has. They also pack a great deal of punch aswell :D

But Core2 Duo's are a bit more expensive then the older Preslers or AMD's Hammer line.

I don't believe you need dual core for anything. I can run 3 EQ with a Pentium 2.6 800 FSB, 1 gig of memory.

And yes, I use Win98SE for many reasons, one of which is stability.
