Not sure what your settings are, but here are two with the default settings other than tile size (one is 128, the other 1024).

I'm not sure how much effort was put into the one HTW is using. I have a copy that has a ton of offmesh links built into it to allow navigation to 99% of the zone without breaks in the mesh.
