One of the frustrating things about the entire incident is that Sony has been extremely unclear about whether users' credit cards were stolen. In all of its statements it adopted ambiguous legal language-esque passages, which while not saying the cards numbers were stolen, also did not rule out the possibility.

Quick note for folks - I was hit by over a thousand dollars in fraudulent charges in the past 24 hours on the CC I used for EQ accounts. I've never had any problems before.

I know Sony says that only CC's from European subscribers were compromised, but it seems mighty suspicious.

Looked like online purchases - WOW accounts and porn sites. All it took was a 30 minute call with my credit card company to get them cleared, and they're overnighting a new card to me tomorrow.

I'm glad you didn't have to foot the bill on those charges. I called my banks yesterday to have my cards cancelled and new ones sent out.

Sony has basically said something to the effect of "we cannot at this time rule out whether or not CC info was taken." That doesn't sound very good to me. If anyone hasn't contacted their bank yet, this should certainly be reason to do so immediately.

At last it this did not happen 2 months ago when weather sucked. Now we at least have decent weather to enjoy.

Oh, they are still billing, card was debited yesterday and the day before. Figured they wouldn't continue billing, but I was wrong.
