Young guy should have shut up which probably instigated the situation.

Gramps and the woman got physical, but I feel most sorry for Gramps, he probably felt obligated "to do something" in the woman's honor.

According to the law though I guess Gramps and the woman would be charged with assault ...

That's New York. Who's tougher - the 25 year old Italian kid, or the 40 something Puerto Rican woman.

I like that they classed up tennis a little bit though.

Without know what started the whole thing can't make a full comment. But just seeing the video, I think the old guy and woman definitely deserve to be charged with assault.

I understand respect your elders and such, but the guy made no aggressive moves toward them, just ran his mouth some. And it looked like he was trying shrug it off as something that didn't matter he just wasn't letting them get them get the last word in.

When the old guy jumped him, and tripped over the chair, the young guy got up and did not even try to attack the guy. Then the women hit him and all he did was push her away from himself didn't actually try to cause harm to her and then suddenly everyone jumps on the young guy... wtf? lol

That one guy acting like he was protecting the old woman really needed to get a clue, you can easily see the young guy wasn't making aggressive actions toward her and she was making aggressive actions toward him.

And the 4 or 5 people trying to hold the young guy.. I don't get it, I just don't see him making any actions to cause them to be doing that to him.

I guess like I said, it all depends on what actually started it and what was being said.

good clip. They're all wrong. It should never escalate to that. I suspect tho if this video made its way into court, the young guy would be vindicated and the couple would be charged with assault.

i like how all the little hero wannabes tackle the young guy...who never even threw a punch..

There's no way to know for sure, but it looks to me like it was a simple verbal thing, until the old guy took a swing. Who knows what the young guy said to cause it though. The way i see it is that no matter how young or old you are, male or female, white or black, etc etc, there are times in everyones lives when they deserve to get hit (just to clarify, i'm not saying it's ok to get violent. Especially with a woman, as i find that pretty detestable). I'd have to say they are all in the wrong, but mostly the old man and the woman, as they are the ones who got physical.

"I'm in a lot of pain. I was defending my daughter," a defiant Lawrence Burnett, 75, told The Post outside his East Stroudsburg, Pa., home, as he rubbed his back in pain. "The guy is a jerk."

You can't fault the old man for defending his daughter. The guy was obviously a prick and should have been escorted out before any of that took place. If it were to have happened on the lower level seats, he would have been ejected immediately.

After watching the 2nd video in Chanterzek's link I definately think the old people are at fault. She slapped the young guy and he just shrugged it off. After all that then the old man come over and they fall down 2 rows.

Silly old people.

Yeah, after watching the 2nd video... yes the young guy caused the problem initially with a foul mouth and not backing down. But that is as far as he went. Especially after he shrugged off a slap from the women.. had I been security at that game and saw that I would have promptly through her and the old guy out right then.

I really don't understand all the people sitting right there yelling to throw the young guy out when he didn't do anything wrong except be a jerk. While dealing with a jerk can be irritating and most people don't really like jerks, he didn't do anything to warrant all the negativity he was getting.

The story said neither party had any criminal charges against them. If I was that young guy I would take these two you tube videos to my lawyer and file assault charges on both the old women and the old guy. Any court of law is going to rule in his favor based on the video evidence.

And! In my humble opinion, senior citizens receive a lot of benefits, and I feel that with these rewards they should be held to a higher standard of wisdom, and responsibility.

I know my grandpa would never of hit someone over them yelling. Now if someone attacked him he would probably shoot them, but he's just a really nice guy. Was my role model growing up, and I'm not nearly as like him as I would like to be.

My guess is the old man is that kid from the future. The man came back from the future to warn him about his loud mouthed ways and he ended up beating himself up over it.

the same matter cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Timecop says so.

Assault can be defined as verbal. When it turns physical, it becomes Battery.

True, but only if it's a verbal threat. Simply annoying someone verbally or arguing with them would not count as assault. :)

That's what I've always heard, but afaik, if someone is verbally abusive in public, they usually get charged with something like "Disorderly Conduct", assuming they won't STFU if asked by the authorities.

Woulda been cool if some fool with a cell phone had been near, so you can hear the entire convo (there is not one right?). If he was cursing, being an ass, etc., then any judge would just say he was inciting the reaction.

htw

The flailing of his arms to accentuate his verbal tirade was enough to constitute a verbal threat.
