well this task is proving to be a pita, we get to the part where the alarm sounds and start dropping mobs, well after about 45mins of that cleric ran out of mana, so we figured we screwd up. went and changed out or dps <added> and tryed again , got to the same part and dropped mobs for long enough to burn lesson, and still could not get off the hail to do the second part of the task. anyone that has completed this task have any tips << i hear the kill 7 fast and mez the 8th mob thing got nerfed, but not sure if that is bs>>

Is this the escort quest that happens in discord? If so this is how we beat it (after dicking around with it for a few hours):

We ended up killing like, 10-20 mobs I think, and we tried keeping both mezzed and killing them back to back really fast, but it didnt work. We also noticed that the mobs kept spawning no matter what, which seems like a bug. So basically, what we did was pull mobs into the hallway for a while, killed a bunch (8 is probably enough based on what i've heard from the post on beta boards), and we then kept one alive.

On the last wave before we were successful, we pulled it in, killed the first one...and then knocked the second one down to 10%. Then I knocked it down to 1-2% ish using just auto attack.

Then, you have to wait until no mobs are up to kill AND hail the npc sitting in the middle of the room. If you watch your map you can see when they spawn and despawn...there was a 2-3 second window when we did it. Its fucking stupid if you ask me, and fucking broken, but it worked. We waited until the mobs in the current wave despawned at which point we had a ranger sitting in the middle of the room invis...he dropped invis and started spam hailing as I killed the last mob with 1 special attack.

We managed to get the update and stop the spawns.

If they nerfed this...then uh, they probably nerfed the only way to beat it...seeing how the fucking thing never worked to begin with. I was told the dev got it to work for him, but i think that fucknut was using his little dandy /kill command which obviously isn't going to emulate player dps/group make-ups.

This task and that other escort in bloodfields make me want to stab soe....as they're both broken to fucking hell.

in this mission i just kept killing the spawns until eventually (like a half hour later, i got the task update and the mobs stopped spawning. Not sure what the original intent of design was but if yu hang in there the mobs will stop at some point.

Unless you're a bit short on DPS... then you're going to keep getting more and more mobs with no end in sight.

The only time I won this task was when we brought along 3 heavy dps classes, plus cleric, plus well-geared pally, plus bard. Bard and BST slowed.
 
I've done this with 3 characters. We just kept killing and hailed the NPC every time the area was clear. It took about maybe 8-12 mobs I think. My 3 man group does 4.2k dps sustained.
 
Inside Room

I could not beat this task pulling mobs to hall...

But after killing 8 or so I moved camp to just outside one of the inner rooms doors and pulled mobs that did not path to me one at a time... The trick after killing mobs was to kill a guard just after the other guard despawned by itself... THat is the only way I got update ant the mobs to stop spawning...

You can get two at a time if you camp inside room so beware...

Did this one last night. The prisoner always warped to zone in and got killed by the guards there. So at beginning of mission go to the zone in and kill the 2 mobs at the front door and the one roamer. Then set up camp in the hallway outside the room and pull one at a time until 8 are killed. Then everyone except one person head to the first door at zone in. The person that stays behind says "ready to leave" to the prisoner when no guards are in the room. Prisoner then get up and walks in to one of the smaller rooms of the main room and warps to zone in. The group at zone stops the mob and kills the named and you are done.
 
Not sure why he's warping to ZI for you, mine went the direct path normallly and I did it a couple nights ago botting 6 myself.

Also had that issue with the guards re-spawning over and over though. Cleared mobs many times from the hall, then move inside and killed a couple sets, got task update and onward I went
 
This is actually simple. Just keep pulling mobs from the room and killing till you get an update. I have done this several times now.
