The Beast

So no wild adds or long process to kick this off? Just deal with beast and mate while watching the AEs and emotes? Of course as mentioned getting even 70% of a raid to watch emotes and follow them is almost impossible in itself.

Only adds are the ones on the beach which pop when he first moves. They can be mezzed so they don't heal him and killed off one by one. Then he repops the second time on the other side if the beach with 4 more adds, rinse and repeat. The adds that pop from the mate don't have to be kited by just an SK, anyone can kite them really cuz they kill themselves off over time anyways. But SK's would be best to pick them up quick so you don't have one chasing after a healer or something. You can kill the mate or the beast first, but if you kill the beast first, his emotes stop. Plus, the mate doesn't hit as hard as the beast does. The emotes are important, if anyone misses them, your basically screwed if it becomes a trend with others. Might think about healer setup. Under the water, before the beasts platform is a smaller hill. If you go underwater, theres an area under that hill they can setup under to be outta los from anyone who might be dumb enough to run towards them when the emote goes off for thier name. We pop our healers there cuz thier in heal range but stay outta los from the raid running north with their emotes going off individually.
 
when the mate spawns, it begins in a location that appears somewhat random but then moves/warps on top of the beast. This does not ALWAYS happen, sometimes it stops short. Is there a way to consistantly keep the mate from moving over to the beast?
 
Mate spawns out of the portal, have your SK offtank there and ready to grab it.
 
ok dont mean to be stupid, but to you mean the tunnel? i dont recall seeing anything that resembles a portal.
 
there is like a mystic portal dealio next to the beast at that spot... maybe 100 away or so.. looks like a 3rd grader drew it.
 
So on the last part

Looks like beast / mate are both rooted.

General Questions.

1. Burn Beast or Mate?
2. Spawns are timed or %?
3. AE Slow, is that emote?
4. Any AE's that trigger from back/front/side?
5. Anyone have the audio triggers, and do yo always seem them in say?

We do mate first, and we have warriors summon tank the beast.
 
Getting ready to try this one soon.

Question on the adds at the end. Seems to be two types
the dimensional beast whelps in the water go aggro and charge the raid
and
several mobs called "an underdeveloped whelp" spawn and attack.

Do both kinds die if kited or do only the underdeveloped die off over time?
 
they camp corpses if trained away we stick the sk pal on kiting or any one who gets agro can run far enough away die or get coh to clear agro and not worry about them
 
Well gave this our first shot but were short on tanks that day. I did not check and somebody mentioned they thought beast could not see through invis. Can anybody confirm this. Our biggest issue was getting the tank and healers in place together so tank did not die before heals started. My other plan is to send in a WS ranger to hold beast till all move. Just curious what others do.

Fairly low hps compared to fippy as the burn from 100-70 went pretty fast. We got the first 4 adds dead then beat on beast a bit but on the second move tanks started dropping then it became a summon fest. Got all 4 adds down but beast got to 100% and reset before we could rez in enough tanks an healers to reengage.

Beast couldn't see through invis during beta, but I haven't tried on live.

Paladin, WS, then tank. This gives you all the time in the world to get people into position. Don't be nubs and have your ranger wait to engage with WS. The paladin just needs to be the 1st person on target NOT DA tank it for 30 seconds like our people seem to think.
 
he does not see invis but what kills invis is the aura on his "island" it breaks invis so unless you move in pop instant invis your going to get summoned.
 
On his island, on the lower end, there is a part that is just barely under water. You can move your raid to that location and then when ready send in a pally DA to get summoned and tank right behind him.
 
Tried it for the first time last night and right from the off we saw the dimensional mobs on Extended Target window - thought these come into player once Mate spawns?

Is he a belly caster? We tried healing/casters off on the main land (2nd attempt) and detrimentals didn't seem to be landing. We ended up calling it since we had gone in just for fun towards the end of our raid hours to see what it was about.

Adds are in the water the entire time so if you get tossed in the water they can aggro but they are rooted so can swim away.

Yeah discovered he is a belly caster so have to get all up close and personal.

Once we get our clerics ramped up a notch I think we will get this one.
 
When Mate spawns, the 4 clumps of adds (4x4) will unroot at set intervals. They need to be kited. They are really fast, so either need something that can take a few hits, or /speed 1 :p
 
you can run them up the halls and they get stuck in geometry
 
Curious on mechanics

When you get beast / Mate up Do you summon tank 1 while your killing the other? And do you typically eat any Emote / Gflux?

What direction do you have each of them facing?
