Payment error on reactivating accounts.

Has anyone updated their account with a different payment source than they had previously - ie different card, and then had it say "This not a valid payment source for this transaction"?

Never seen that one before, and it's not allowing me to reactivate the account.
 
The account previously had a payment from Canada on it - so I'm wondering if it's the different country? The previous payments were in US dollars it appears. I'll try and put a phone call in to Sony.
 
To switch it over, would I need to call them and provide original info - or original owner needs to call and switch it to US dollars? This must be something relatively new, I've never run into this before.
 
Wow seriously? They wont except a change from Canadian to American?
