I R GUY WOH GUN BAI NEW PUTER

With that mobo blitz you cannot use the graphics card dev picked, the one dev picked is pcie 16 x 2.1 and that mobo only has the 2.0 slot.

Yeah good call, I completely overlooked that. Not seeing any mobos with 2.1 slots, so I'm looking for another GPU.

PCI 2.1 will work in 2.0 slots. They are the same format, 2.1 just has a few instructions from the future 3.0 spec that will not be available to you.

get the radeon 6950 and u can flash the bios and make is a 6970 and only cost u 300 bucks, have it and did it already

The thing to be careful with on this is the 6950 does not have the same power connectors as the 6970. Under high demand you could experience performance loss due to not enough power. You probably wouldn't have this problem simply playing EQ, but if you plan to play any other new games with heavy graphics you may have this problem. Personally I'd pay the extra 70 dollars to get the card that has the proper hardware to fully support the full power of the GPU.

6950 if u decide not to flash it will support up to 4 monitors

right now i only have my main monitor and tv set up to it

dvi for monitor and hdmi for tv..

huge pro with the hdmi it will transfer the sound as long as the video if you will use it for tv or anything of that nature

Oh cool dev I didn't know that, thought you had to have the 2.1 slot!

And yes blitz with two of those your getting way over carried lol. Only need 1 of those lol!

Alright so the 2.1 dev linked instead of these. Price totals to just under $3k.

That's with two of them.

Yeah lol, if you want to run dual cards you could save a little money and get dual 6950s instead of 6970s and you aren't going to find many (if any) games right now to make that stutter. A single 6970 should be good enough to run just about anything out there at on high settings with at least 30+ fps.

And you could always put a single 6970 in there now and add another later if you need more power. Or even a single 6950 and add a second 6950 later. The 6950 is still overkill for EQ and should play most new games on high settings, you just might have to back down some stuff like AA a little.

Well, the reason for the dual monitors and dual cards is 1 card per monitor. I'm not sure if that makes much of a difference but oh well. I'm looking to keep 1 monitor as my primary where my active session for IS will be max resolution, and the other monitor will contain tiles (just for this specific EQ example).

My watch can run EQ these days. Are you boxing raids? If not, i can sell you my watch. it'll save you a lot of money.

haha, awesome. I love how hardware actually seems to be passing games the days. The max game doesn't require the max hardware, definitely different then how it used to be. I can't find a valid reason to dumb 1200 in a PC anymore.

looks good, with the stuff it sounds like your wanting to do id get more memory!

But overall looks nice!

swap to the 6950, no reason to spend extra 80 bucks when u can flash the bios

Not sure if you read my earlier post Carbja23, but there is a very good reason to not flash the bios.

The 6950 has smaller power connectors and thus doesn't have as much power flowing to it. If you flash it and push it to hard you will get power problems causing poor performance and possible crashes.

Finally got the initial setup going. All seems well except having to install the 2.5-3.5" adapter plate for the SSD and possibly replace a few cables for better flow. I had one problem with these H243H Acer monitors in that when I used the HDMI cables, I got the 1920x1080 resolution but encountered a black border around my display (the monitors whole view wasn't being used)... switching over to the DVI solved this (same resolution, but runs the width and height of the monitor). Also, the monitors are very bright and it's a pita to adjust as these menu buttons at the bottom are touch.

You got and built that quick..

Yes was priority overnight shipping. Picked up the 2.5-3.5" bay adapter earlier. Last but not least, I need to start cleaning up these power cables. I am still missing one cable for some of the front fans (which modules aren't even installed yet due to SDD hanging taped there.

On a brighter note, having setup IS and my window layout with IS Boxer, I've been able to run up to 12 instances without a drop below 30 FPS.
