Curious how other guilds are setting up the mercs. In the group one you can almost ignore the trash.

In the raid one we tried the same but the gods died to fast. So have been working on using initial mercs to kill the trash away from the gods then use the marks to buy more to break the shield. Then build up more marks to replant troops when he charms the mercs.
 
Yer not gonna get much of a response atm, because most guilds who have completed this...are not going to share that info. Its kina a race....and well, everyone wants to win.
 
After a couple of wins.

Dropping defenders on east and west side to kill off the trash plus 2 bashers and 2 healers down by where herald stops worked best for us. By the time the herald gets to the pit the 2 people looting chests will have plenty to beef up the sides and have spares for the middle.

Around 50% he starts charming some of the placed units. they have low hps and can be killed off while continuing to burn down the herald.

Around 25% or so he starts pulling the trash that was just pathing to the gods in towards him but at that point they can be kited.

Keep the trash away from the herald and just keep burning him down. Have casters keep him fully dotted.

Do not try to kill the windsong adds when they path in. The AE from them along with their large number of hps makes this impracticle
 
If your having trouble figuring out where to set up the troops to kill adds. Watch the pathing of the little orbs that fly around the zone. They follow the mob paths. Can have your clerics help heal the troops till shield is down on the herald. At that point you can ignore damage to the gods. If you dont have enough DPS to kill him before the gods loose at that point you have issues.

Kiter tip. If you aggro a mob and run south to the windsong camp. There is a shield up there. When you run into it you get tossed all the way back to the herald. The mobs move slow so will loose aggro and wander around a bit before heading back.
 
The problem we are having is that there are too many mobs coming to herald and we dont get them all kited away before killing our dps. Any tips for that? It seems like we have 6-7 mobs at herald every little bit trying to be kited away.
 
Make an audio trigger for "attacks you for for" (yes 2 for). Getting that means move your ass out of the aura and get away from the mob. You're gonna get lots of mobs at the end (more if your burn is slow), its up to your raiders to do their part to actually avoid those mobs and help keep them away. They can't just stand around assuming that somebody else will be taking care of them.
 
We beat it tonight. Was amazing how easy it was when everyone did their job.

Seems to me it's all about the placing of the initial three mercs down in pit with the Raid healers healing them til Shield is down and then BURN MFer til dead! Rinse wash n repeat once a week?
 
Pretty much. Like I said we put mobs up to kill of the sides just so those not paying attention don't die while waiting on herald to get to the middle. Plus when herald enters the pits the gods are usually at full health so can ignore all adds easily from then on till you need to kite them at the end.
