tournament gaming for a living.

I think it's a cool idea. Nothing more fun than kicking back on a Friday night and betting a few dollars on a few games of poker. Doing that for online gaming would be cool. Would suck if your ping was bad though. I doubt cheating would be much of an issue when there is that kind of money involved.

I would have to disagree with fry. When money is involved the cheating determination is raised. Specially with CS

I think he's saying it would be tightly controlled like casinos.

You still have the problem with the CS/HL game being so easy to hack, complete different type of game then card games. When I think about the two I compare them like this
Online Casino games - Server side can not really no much
CS/HL Games - Client Side can give yourself God Mod if your good.

FPS games are ridiculously easy to cheat. Not that I'm any good at them, but I wouldn't bet a cent on one unless I was at the physical location where the other players are, and people are watching.

It's worth noting that in beta testing, many players complained about being unable to accumulate winnings in excess of $25, which was the requirement to withdraw money during the beta. So even if you've got seriously 1337 gaming skillz, don't quit your day job just yet.

Im thinking they need to up the cashflow to make it worth anyones while tho. lol
