I DID use search but did not find exactly what I was looking for :

I use MQ2Melee,

I use it for a monk :

Auto Attack
Stunning Kick
Flying Kick
Drunkey Monkey Style Rk2
Fists of Wu
Dream Walkers Synergy Rk2
Cloud of Fists Rk2

It does not re-pop fists of wu every 50 seconds like it should for automatic repop (if auto-attack is on)

and Cloud of Fists is not automatic and on proper timing.. I have to click manually, altho it IS turned on.

I would suggest turning on the various Show options (and reload if in game: /melee load). Then, in game, turn on melee debug: /meleedebug

It should tell you it's on. It will write to a file in your mq2dir\Logs, called: MQ2Melee_Debug.log

Email that log to me at htwmmo@gmail.com and I will be glad to take a look, and see if I can help you out.

I don't really care because I just made a holy shit for it, but I've had the issue and I've heard from a few people that cloud of fists doesn't really work.

Same here. I've tested it pretty thoroughly and I can't really find any rhyme or reason to when it decides to fire or not. It isn't time-based (or if it is, it isn't a rigid / set amount of time to fire after engaging a mob).

It works most of the time, so I've never considered it a big deal. Given the number of accounts I run, I could care less about one skill semi-working, especially this one in particular.

MY Q are as follows:
is there a reset.... /meleereset? was thinking if i reset it back to default and add what i need or /autoskill it it might work

Tried various things

Nope, no default. Easiest is unload plugin, delete all the options out of the [MQ2Melee] section of the server_toon.ini, then load plugin & do /melee save

Sort of on topic, maybe not.

Since technically Monks should be using Flying Kick all the time, would a monk achieve more DPS by only selecting Flying Kick in the INI?

With Drunken Monkey, I have never really checked it but I assume with all styles selected in the INI it will use the appropriate one each time?

Any monks care to speculate on whether they actually lose DPS from only using Flying Kick even while using Drunken Monkey?

Cheers for the response but not quite what I was after. I've read the various Monk Burn threads here and as with Monklybusiness they are either outdated, wrong or just plain don't have a clue.

I've mained my monk for the last 5 years and know him inside and out. When I started using MQ2Melee it took a lot of the button pushing away for me which made things easier however I still worry that it may not be doing everything at the right time. I am seeing a substantial variance in Monk DPS within my guild. I personally parse at the top end of most every fight, top 5, however occasionally I get out parsed by other Monks. When a group geared, lesser AA Monk is outdoing me in a parse something is not right.

So my questions are, for other MQ2Melee Monks;

1. With the use of MQ2Melee would it be better to toggle off all of the various abilities except Flying Kick to achieve more DPS?
2. When using Drunken Monkey is it worthwhile to block everything except the Flying Kick boost, knowing that if a disc is running I will not be able to fire DM again to get the kick boost back?
3. Can HTW confirm that MQ2Melee definitively uses each individual attack based off the DM boost currently active.

I personally parse out on a Group Name between 18k-21k depending on lucky shots etc and whether I burn from the start or wait for my Warrior bot to collect aggro. My box group is - Warrior, Rogue, Zerker, Cleric, Enchanter and a Monk.

A friend borrowed my account and boxed the Monk with his Wizard, Warrior and Enchanter and managed to pop 38k DPS on a Group Name. He was manually playing the Monk, Wizard and Warrior. So my question there is WTF?

My group makeup is desgined to be a DPS wet dream. I destroy trash in every zone, nothing stays up for longer than 20seconds. If I have a name it is dead within 30 seconds. Yet here is someone manually playing 2 characters during a full burn and achieving substantially more DPS than me. The only difference between our methods is that I let MQ2Melee handle my attacks. We used the same burn order and same discs.

I'm not after a flamefest, I just want to clarify some information and determine whether MQ2Melee is the best thing for a parsing Monk.

I started taking a look at this log, for monk - just haven't gotten too into it yet, with a few other things going on also.

For Monk (or any class for that matter), if something is not working as good as it should, I'd love to get it fixed up. Unfortunately, without playing, I have to try to go off the details people can give me, and compare that to what the code is doing.

I can tell you, for Drunken Monkey, right now all it does is check if it's ready, and distance to target is < 50, and what you have it set to (monkey) is > your current endurance, then it fires - assuming any monkeyif passes. Although you could use a monkeyif to fine tune it, the idea is to do it in code without you having to - you CAN, but you shouldn't have to in most cases, for any ability. That's the point of the plugin, to automate things for you with simple options 99% of the time.

i thought all the abiilites boosts were all on the same timer,
with or without MQ using flying kick seemed to be able to return the most bang for your buck (ties in nicely w other discs aas etc)

since I thought u were NOT making use of other abilities that share the timer w flying kick, there is imo no reason to have the boosts of DM continue to fire (thats why i blocked them)

I believe the first time this discussion came about was because the faster u were done using these boosts , DM that is, (and u were only using flying kick boost) it was beneficial to be done w it sooner and hence get another round in

thats what i got out of the post when the discussion was ongoing, now if anything got changed since then Im not aware of it and atm when i do play my monk hes still set up that way, do DM as often as posssible (now on its own timer) , flying kick on, blocking anything else thats not flying kick

Curious if someone is gonna say that there is a good reason to unblock other boost effects and or use something else besides flying kick
 
ok now i remember a bit more

drunken monkey was on same timer as cloud of fists

the faster u were done w drunken monkey the faster u could do another cloud of fists

now dm is on its on timer (so clicking anything off is irrelevant possibly?
u dont get to spam cloud of fists

since thats the case maybe unblock stuff so that it runs its course cause if u dont get past dragon claw boost u wont get to kick boost? (not flying just reg)

and prob have melee kick=1
 
does anyone have any holyshits that can fire of skills such as flying kick/regular kick/eagle stike ... etc depending on the active buff from Drunken monkey? that way i think you could maximize dps using those skills at least?

I started wondering if it would be a good idea to try to use the other abilities being boosted by Drunken Monkey.......... after a closer look i think blocking them and futhermore not turning them on in melee is the best way to go

Flying kick seems to be boosted all the time innately via aa and has more discs it can benefit from that messing w tiger claw eagle strike or even plain kick is just taking away from flying kick and i think not worth it

synergy should be used as often as possible (reuse 30 sec)
makes mobs weaker against other flying kicks

heel of kai increases rate of landing flying kicks as well as how often

extended heel of kanji adds 1 more tick to heel of kanji

kick mastery affects damage by flying kicks

stone foot more dmg from flying kicks

ADD return kick (innate aa) returns flying kicks


bottom line melee flyingkick=1 anything else =0(off)
block or dont block rest of boosts to other abilities but i think can just say f it and dont bother using any of them as they interfere w flying kick

You can just set the various *if options you want to restrict that way, to check if that buff is on you, and only fire if it is.
