Keeper of the Matrix in Arx Mentis

I'm having a b*tch of a time getting this mob killed with a 6-box while doing the Arx Mentis progression "solo task" A Beginning From An End. The problem is she can't be snared, can't be pulled out of the room and she has at least 4 potential adds very close by. Some of those can be snared but they all respawn in 5 minutes so clearing them isn't the optimal solution like in "normal" zones with "normal" respawn timers. There's a broomstick that paths around the area as well, with potential to add.

I'm considering splitting my group into 2 or 3 groups and summoning mercs so I can off-tank as many as 2-3 adds if I can't isolate the Keeper. There is an area to the west of the Keeper which has no static spawns and only the broom stick passes through. If I can "lure" her there I can mez or off-tank the broomstick while we burn her down. But so far I've had no luck getting her single. Despite statements to the contrary on allakhazam she can't be snared. Maybe she was at one time but she appears to be flagged as immune to run-speed changes now.

Any suggestions? I've six-boxed the entire TDS progression up to this mission and I surely would like to wrap it up entirely. Plus I want to earn the Seafarer achievement and acquire the mini-TRex illusion, which is pretty cool! The Keeper is blocking my path!

I'm starting to think my only hope is to get all the adds mezzed with my enchanter but given the resistance level of these mobs, that's a challenge. Maybe repeat cycles of mez and then CoHero the enchanter until they're all mezzed. I haven't tested this yet and I'm also wondering if any of these adds are immune to mez or too high level for my 103 enchanter's mez to land. If no useful suggestions arise from this post that's my next step, I guess.

Hmm from memory I messed all adds on bard and burned named.

Sk,clr,mage,mage, bst, brd was group.

Deflection with tank while CC gets adds sorted, burns should be running still to clean up adds loot and gtfo.

It was pretty close for my group, although I manually played bard and friend played sk and macros burn on command.
 
Thanks for the info. I'm starting to think I need to do other stuff till my enc is 105 and then gets high level mez and aoe mez and then try again.
 
This was a rough one for my team but managed after a couple tries.

I set up on south side east passage leading into the room.

Cleared the broom roamers then pulled with bard / monk till I only had 2-3 + named.

Then I rushed the named, hit defensive, and burned it down, looting before adds + repops overwhelmed me.
 
Dewey, you were able to burn the named down even with the 80% spell reflect buff she casts on herself?
 
Did this with enc sk clr Mage and 2 cleric merces all level 105
We came in from the "top" entrance and killed broom first then a couple room mobs and quickly pulled matrix enc gets aemez at 104 so its probably impossible before that...

I remember I tried different entrances to the room and wiped like 10 times before I managed to find a way, it was frustrating to say the least the Arx progression is one of those things that is gona make you wish you quit eq...

I suppose the upside is that when you get to the last task this fight is gonna seem easy ;)

You may be right about Arx but I love the challenge. I was warned about some of the other tasks and missions in earlier zones but I managed to get them all done with my group. That's the fun of the game for me!

I run a melee heavy group: SK, Clr, Bard , Shmy, Monk, Ranger.

I've had some success with coming in from the top right and leashing her. After you get a few cleared rushing in.
 
Had no cc when I did it. Riposte disced and burnt it down. Think I had about 3 adds around it that came. Wiped after killing it.

Setup campfire right outside the room. Then went back and DA looted the quest drop.
 
All the T3 missions I felt like I kind of wiped / rezed my way through them.
 
The endless song tasks were rough too, especially that 4 brothers one, was wipe after wipe to get through that one.


Also took me a hour to realize not to use battleleap while fighting in the water, that stopped the wipes after that.
 
Actually until Arx I found all the missions "boxable." I did study the posts on allakhazam and eqresources for tips, since there's no point in repeating mistakes others have made. This xpac's progression was actually very solo/boxer friendly, unlike some earlier xpacs. What I hate are escort missions, which can be very hard to perform when you're running 6 toons.
 
I found this expansion to be a PITA to box.

- Caverns of endless suck - lots of stuff to get stuck on.
- Degmar - tight spaces with the occasional see invis to mess you up.
- Arx - brooms roaming and confusing layout with a portal that clicks most of the time.

On top of that the continued trend to add big anti melee DS shields to named.
 
Difference, I guess, is I use my mage's Call of Heroes, along with druid evac spells, to get around. Makes a big difference.
