EQBCS has been rock solid for a bit except starting last week or so.
My clients get disconnected to my local eqbcs server (on same box).
My server is bound to 127.0.0.1
The mq2eqbcs.exe is excluded from Windows Defender as well (along with some other EQ and MQ2 executables).

Any changes to eqbcs server in last few weeks?

In mq2eqbcs.exe window I'll see:
Removing dead client: TOON1
buf TOON1 <TAB>DISCONNECT<N>
[2015-05-05 09:50:23] -- TOON1 has left the server.

The only saving grace is I have my clients set to auto-reconnect after 30 secs.

No, there have been no changes to the plugin or the server at any recent point. Have you tried using the xeniaz one (if you are already using classic), or the other if thats not the case?

I have the GUI checked to bring up the server component, and bound to localhost since I run everything from one box.

How would I switch out to a different eqbcs server .exe?
mq2eqbcs.exe is 1635KB. That matches the Xeniaz exe file size. i would assume my mq2eqbcs.exe is just a renamed Xeniaz?

Would I just rename the current mq2eqbcs.exe to something else and then make one of other ones the original name?

Thanks

There should be (at least in the zip download) a MQEQBCS-Xeniaz.exe and a MQ2EQBCS-Classic.exe

Just delete your MQ2EQBCS.exe
And rename (or copy) the MQ2EQBCS-Classic to MQ2EQBCS.exe
And see if you get anything better/worse.

I would like to continue to give Zeniaz eqbcs a try.
I've been using eqbcs since monster mission times, but only started having this problem over the last year or so.

I would like to figure out what is happening with my disconnects from clients to my localhost-bound eqbcs.
Maybe putting the eqbcs into verbose logging mode might give a clue.

I think it's the logging.ini file that controls the variables and possibly puts it into verbose logging mode to a file?

Does the client actually detect the disconnect or is it connected just not receiving the pings?

Good question.
I'm at work so can't verify.
But from memory.

Client connect and joins the server. I can "/bc test msg blah blah blah"
Then client is disconnected, and the msgs in first post show up in the eqbcs server.
Client is set to auto-reconnect and successfully does so 30 secs later.

It seems to be happening when I am logging multiple clients on in succession so it would make sense if disconnects happen because of high PC activity due to all the background EQ sessions that are still loading.
Eventually the disconnects do stop and become stable.

Maybe don't load EQBC until you are actually in game, let the server load. But don't connect until you have your army in game.

I only asked because I think pets used to overload EQBC/NetBots and would cause an unexpected ping request or something to that effect. It would drop you but you would still appear to be online, so the reconnect never actually was fired.
