I'm 86 on my group and figured I would do some tasks in HoT so I could request the group missions. My warrior tank has all defensive aa's minus the shield one since he still dual wields until those shield aa's are maxed.

Question 1: How much AC should a tank have to handle HoT? I was getting ripped apart at 3900AC.

Question 2: Do clerics still use CH for healing this late in the game or should I try using faster big heals?

Need probably at least double your AC, and yes CH doesn't work anymore, need fast heals.

6k + would be ideal as a warrior you have field armor and bracing defense use these alot they increase AC etc.

Clerics need to spam heal CH hasnt really worked for years.

Also get a shield and get the AAs a warriors dps doubles with a shield (shield specialist and improved SS are a must) SS increases your 1handers base damage by 75% with all the ranks. So a 100 dam 1h is 175 damage etc.

6k ac and you'd be fine. Good luck getting much more than 6.5k ac with just group gear.

A bit more info on your warriors stats/aa's etc would be usefull.

Also, you should buy sheild specialist aa and use a shield if only for the ac boost.

Also, you guys saying double the ac... thats a bit rough when best group gear on my shd with all the best augs with metal orb only get 6k4 ac unbuffed. People do actually start somewhere...

Depending on your healers mana etc... i would say 5k AC at a minimum is a starting point to getting a feel for HoT lower missions. Again, a bit better of an idea for your warriors aa's will help.

At 87 with my shd buffing to just over 6k AC i tanked T4 library mission entirely. Healing wasnt efficient but it's doable easy enough. That was just cleric merc/shaman healing.

Ok i just started playing again and i have a war/monk/rogue/bard/sham cleric merc. My war had maybe 5.5 buffed ac ss and IS i was able to move from SoD group gear/UF t7? to t4 on all my chars in less then a month. You might want to buy some bazaar gear and work from there. At least for your tank

started in hot with my full group at 85, started with feerott missions of course... and i was around 5.2k ac i think... was pretty tough but fast heals are key as well, im 90 on all toons and still not t4 flagged though, havnt put a ton of time into it
