1) portals

portals need to be killed by particular weapons (blunt, slash, h2h, pierce) and by different nuke/dots (fire, cold, magic, disease... etc). They spawn adds and after the 2nd add it spawns a named that hits hard, so dps is essential. The genie adds are mezzable, and i think the others aren't. The goal is to kill portals before their named pops. There are 5 portals and i believe their spawn times are timed.

The adds in this part drop some "mod rod" type wands that let you recover some mana and endurance. This is important for something i will explain on the bottom.

2) drakes

2 drakes spawn after you finish portals (not adds but not sure). Their names are Char and Blaze. One of them will start hitting very hard in comparison with the other. Their damage will go down as they go down in health, so you should focus on the hard hitting one first. Take them equally down after 50% (not entirely sure why we do this) and then kill them.

3) Suchun

Suchun will become targettable after youve killed the 2 drakes. He hits hard, 6k is about right on a full AC tank. 5k or so on defensive. During him being alive a DT (like vishi's) will land on all your raid. It has to be cured with RC6 or RGC or you get DT'd. Also the portals will start to pop, their adds will start to pop and both Drakes will pop. Kill him, then kill his adds and you win. You won't win if you dont kill everything.


During the entire event:

Mana/Endurance drain - Suchun although untargettable does a continuous mana/end drain. This is very important to avoid (indoors - so hide LoS from him).

Mana/Endurance below 50%
Once you have your mana and endurance below 50%, you will be continuously banished to the lava surrounding the fight.

Mana/Endurance below 20%
When you have mana below 20% you will be death touched with only a super fast warning that will probably give you enough time to click your mana/end wand if you're fast. But most of the time, say goodbye.

1) Portals - As Rej said they need to be killed with certain weapon types and need to be done very quickly as they spit upwards to 10 adds out if not killed quickly.

5 portals will spawn in all. The order of weapon types for each is as follow

Portal1 = Pierce/Cold Nukes
Portal2 = Hand 2 Hand
Portal3 = Slashing
Portal4 = Blunt
Portal5 = Throwing/Ranged attacks (rangers trueshot is great)/Fire nukes

Magic type nukes works on all portals

In addition to the portals needing certain weapon types the adds each portal spits out needs to be killed with that weapon type as well. For example first portal spits a add out. It has to be killed with pericing/cold Nukes.

While waiting for the next portal to spawn kill any unmezable spawn that spawned from the previous portal during this time.

Flame Mephit - Sun Guardian - Ash Gargoyle - Torrid Elemental are not mezable. an ash gargoyle is mezable but very resistant and should be offtanked till is mezed or killed.

Now after portals are killed, Its time to deal with Blaze and Char (the drakes). They are bastards to be honest. They rush the raid when spawn (Emote they spawn with = Blaze and Char both flicker in and out of this realm breifly) Char starts off as a very hard hiting machine. Blaze is a bit weaker but AE's for 3k. Every 1 min or so a emote happens and they both memblur as well. They both need dpsed down fast. They become very very weak the lower their HP gets. Get both to 5-10 percent range before killing them. Then kill back to back. The reason for this is that they harm Suchun by 8-10 percent while he is inactive. So killing them back to back means he cant regen so much and when he does come active he should only have about 60 percent HP.

Once the 2nd drake is killed Suchun becomes active. And on top of this the event starts to restart as well IE up to 2 portals at a time will respawn + Char + Blaze (They respawn with like 50 percent hp so they dont hit as hard). Now also comes a very very big thing to watch out for. A death touch buff called Doom of the Blood Warden. Takes 25 curse counters to cure this or 1 cast of RC6. You have 30 seconds to get it cured or your dead.

Trigger for death touch debuff = A fire courses through your veins.

Ill leave it to you for now to figure out how to finish Suchun off. The event becomes hell the longer you go. You have to figure out how to CC portal respawns + drakes and kill suchun. Good Luck on geting your guilds strat down.
 
On the 5th portal our zerkes could throw axes at the portal, but the rangers reported not being able to use archery.

We are making some solid progress on this fight. However, some concerns have crept up about ppl getting DT'd and banished in regards to there mana/end bars. Some ppl are getting banished when they are close to 50% mana while there endurance is above 60%. People that don't have mana bars are not getting banished until there endurance gets down in the 20% range. Anyone have an answer for this??

Also, will staying out of the LoS of Suchun prevent getting banished and/or DT'd?

Nod, I had noticed the same, people were banished to lava... and they were not below 40pct.... confused me.

And no, being out of LOS won't help.
 
LoS is not a factor for the Mana Drain and End Drain.

The mobs from the portals drop an item that will regen Mana/End So if you typically have alot of adds them the people that tend to always have the problem should pick them up to use them.

THe biggest key honestly to Suchun is DPS.... as much as you can as fast as you can while conserving resources to avoid uncontrollable death.

For Char and Blaze.... just evenly get them to 5% then kill Char.... leave blaze alone until Suchun rezzes Char.... then kill Blaze.... he will not return. at 50% char isn't gonna be hitting too hard so just offtank him while the raid burns Suchun down and ignore all the portals that spawn at that point.

Does the Wand of Centering stay on you after you zone?

What I am most interested in knowing is if you loot a Wand of Centering in one instance will it work if you fail and have to re-request?

Unless this has been changed in a recent patch, yes the wand can be used over multiple instances.
 
PORTALS

anyone know the name of portals to correspond with the type of damage we need to inflict on them??? Any help pls pst???

Yes I do. The portal names are all the same. As far as knowing what types of damage you need to kill them.....you will know the awnsers to that to if/when you decide to go back to page 1 and read.
 
The second round of portals spawning seem to spawn randomly in regards to what damages them. We also seem to get the ones closest to the Clerics respawning.

We have the first round of portals under control.

We have the two drakes under control.

We have Suchon burning.

We are of course struggling some with the DT but most of all the second round of portals and adds. We got Suchon to 19% but every attempt has went south with the second respawn of the portals.

Anyone have any words of wisdom regarding them. I read one post says to ignore them and burn. It's hard to ignore them when they are raping your Clerics.
 
Have knights grab all the mobs that come from portals and just burn suchun.
 
We are trying to figure out when the second portals spawn. Are they based on Suchun's HP, time fromt he last portal dead. Also how do they spawn. We had one spawn on a Cleric totally away from the raid that was healing our Drake team.
 
ditch the "drake team"

Take both drakes way down to the other end of the cave and dps them down evenly, then kill them off at the same time for maximum time til they come back alive.
Run back up to the suchun area.

The drakes will come alive again during the fight, but will be down out of the way, and they don't reagro and charge the raid. They will just wait for you to go back down and kill them after suchun is dead. Will free up a few more people and healers.

Even easier... kill them both, have 2 knights and 1 healer OT the respawns for the remainder of the fight. The respawned versions hit for squat.
 
missed the point.
No need to have anyone ot or heal them.
Dragging them away , they respawn and dont reagro.

Frees up knights and healers to help with the main fight.
