Task 1 - Knowledge for Power (Hide and Seek) - [Task from Plik]

This mission is hide and seek. Once you clear it you start the game and hide from "Seekers". If your whole party gets caught you just hail and start the wave over. Once the zone is clear there is no more fighting.

1) The Entrance to the Pyramid is at Loc: . There are see invis mobs all around it, so if there is no one at the entrance the safest way to get there is to levi and run.

2) Yinihortinkah is at the top of the pyramid. You want to clear every mob on the way to him, because later in the task you will need the rooms that they are in to stay safe from the seekers.

3-5) There is one room on the first floor that we hid in the whole time that kept us safe from the seekers. I have put on group X's so you know the location of where people hid. We all got caught in wave two and restarted, then we were fine the rest of the time.

6) Go back to Yini and say "What is causing the power source to fail"

7) Speak with researcher Plik.

Task 2: Locating the Statue

This is a task in The Buried Sea expansion, it results in good faction and an easy way to earn Orums. This starts in Katta.

1) Enter Thalassius, the Coral Keep.
2) Kill 1 Brendanus Riordan.
3) Examine the statue of Prexus.
4) Deliver the transcript to Associate researcher Maladoks.

1) First off, you get this task in the main building of Katta Castrum. You head to the portal labled as "Thalassius" or simply look for the green line on your compass.

2) Invis when you zone in. Beware, there are a lot of mobs between Thalassius and the zone in. However, there are only two mob types that sees through invis: "a puddle of water", and the Kedge in the room before the named (You'll see them). There are a couple ways of dealing with this: have a bard mez as the group runs by, then have the bard fade.. or you can also just kite them throughout the event. Riordan spawns in the big rectangular room, stop in the room before that, and get to a corner and kill whichever mob happens to be in the corner. Have your puller get Riordan single and kill him.

3) Have a FD or Fade class go back to the room where Riordan spawns and look at the statue of Prexus. Everyone recieves an etching transcript.

4) Speak to Maladoks. The quest is now complete and congrats on your faction and Orums! Save your Etching Transcript, or turn it in for progression.

When you get this quest down, it takes no more than 5 minutes to complete. Your group needs to be on it's toes when moving, the pathing is terrible and if you screw up it's easy to get a lot of adds. When I get a chance to take pictures of the map I will add them to the post. Additionally, while you're waiting for your lockout timer to expire, you can do some of the various quests that are given in Katta.

It took about 4 misisons for me to go from Apprehensive to Indifferent. The Orums scale down as you do the same mission over and over again, but it starts at 50.
 
Task 3: Stone Tongue of Ateleka - Given by Plik

1) You enter the pyramid in the non-instanced Jewel of Atiiki at the loc: -650, -945, 203.93.

2) As you zone in, you need to clear straight up to the top where you will find Osinzuhazhfet. There are no tricks to getting there, there are mobs everywhere and they see invis. Make sure you clear out Osin's room before you talk to it. Also, be careful if you're pulling to the zone in. The zone out is right on the ground, and is easy to step on. Say "Ready" and be ready for a mob to pop.

3) This is the hard part! The first Monstrosity is a cakewalk, easier than an MPG named. Do not be foooled, as the chest you choses changes the difficulty of the Monstrosity. Each time you kill it, it drops a new stone key. The pieces of the Tongue can be in random chests. Here's the catch, each time you open a chest a new mob pops, and depending on the chest you open, there will be different abilities added to the Monstrosity. There is only one fragment in each group of 3 chests. The mob that started as easier than an MPG named can become a 20 minute fight, a 3.5k hitter, and flurrier if you do not chose/guess the chests correctly.

The chests are:

Iron -- slashing
Sturdy -- blunt or pierce? Seemed to be piercing, but doesn't seem to fit name-wise.
Stone - blunt or pierce?

Rotted - disease/poison immune
Crystal - magic immune (remember: most slows are magic)
Frozen - cold/fire immune

Skin - AC/mitigation (severely)
Flesh - lot more hp
Blood - higher regen (didn't really notice a strong diff, tho)

Spiked = flurry
Heavy = higher hits
humming = ?? assume faster mob attacks

4) Have whoever collected/looted all the shards of the tongue give them to Osin.

5) Follow the text through Osin.

6) Return to Katta and talk to Plik, the mobs you killed at the begining of the instance are still dead. The task is complete.[/quote]
