Rockband 2 Looking at September 2008 Release Date

Rockband 2 was announced "officially" today. IGN posted a Q&A about Rockband2.

http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/885/885168p1.html

Some of the interesting quotes.

Quote:
IGN: The most important question. Will Rock Band 1 DLC be playable in Rock Band 2?

Dan Teasdale: Yes. We've been developing Rock Band as a music platform from the start. All of the songs that you've purchased so far (and will be able to purchase in the future) are instantly playable and fully supported in Rock Band 2. We've even added some cool new features that let you play your DLC in different ways, which I think people will be very excited to get their hands on.

IGN: What are the chances of having multiple vocalists? Or at least a way that one character can be both a vocalist and play another instrument and have that properly represented in-game?

Teasdale: This is actually something that I have a vested interest in. I play bass in the band Speck, and one of our songs requires me to both sing and play bass at the same time. The problem, however, is that I have no coordination!

IGN: Here are ten bands I want to see in RB2:
Agent Orange
The Beatles
Built to Spill
The Buzzcocks
Journey
Led Zeppelin
Modest Mouse
Pavement
The Replacements
Tool

Based on this list. How do you think I would rate RB2 on a scale of 0-10 (ten making me a happy reviewer and zero making suicidal).

Teasdale: Not only have you named some of my favorite bands, but you've also named some of the bands that are on the Rock Band 2 disc.
This means RB2 will hit the streets before GH: World Tour. They still haven't even gotten Rock Band 1 released in Australia yet, and PS3 owners in Europe haven't had there release either. Also PS3 owners wont get Rock Band 2 in the US until sometime after September. September is Xbox360 only release date it seems.

And AC/DC didn't make the list until Nightmare and Metallica didn't get listed until Impossible. Heavy metal is one of my favorite genres. I'll check my guild's forum cause there's several who have been waiting and talking about this just as you. These guys are mostly all Euros so the time frames they're referring to are Euro.

After exstensive research ive tracked down that the PS3 release is late august around the 29th to be exact..

Not sure i can wait 3 more months, reading the Rockband forums it seams Harmonx seam to have much love for the 360 over PS3..

On a plus note i have Guitar Hero 3 on 360 and the Guitar can be used with the xbox rockband.. so if i get the bundle pack with mic, guitar and drums ill have that extra guitar

Plus notes extended:- 360 has microsoft points so i can buy them from a retailer for my downloaded songs...
And here's a link I don't know if you've seen
