RIP AllofMP3.com
With the death of allofmp3 a few days ago, and what appears to be the subsequent death of all affiliated sites, mp3sparks.com and memphismembers, can anyone suggest a good source for mp3s?
I don't mind paying a small premium such as the prices we got from allofmp3, but I flat out refuse to line the pockets of the RIAA's crones and can't be bothered messing about with all the various copy protection bullshit. |

Primarily, I look on USENET for MP3's first.
If USENET doesn't have what I'm looking for, I've got $17 left on http://www.gomusic.ru/ That used to be called something else, can't remember what. I've been using it for a couple of years with no problem. Who knows when / if it may go down. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a fish through some of them over the next few days.

FYI, I also heard on the TWIT podcast that allofmp3 has another website with the complete user database already setup. It was down when they tried it, but they'll probably come back.
