Little late but..
Wife and I saw it, I was very dissapointed in it. The movie lacked a sense of "true Indy". And now that they introduced Shia Labeouf, their bound to try and make more Indy movies making him follow in his fathers footsteps, which will kill the legacy. The first 3 blew this thing out of the water, wasnt worth it to see in theaters whatsoever. Hell, I would of been happy if they tried to steal the fuckin Mona Lisa painting then go searching for some bullshit alien skulls. That is all. |

Imagine you're not religious -- aren't all the Indy's kinda sci-fi? If you're going to believe that there's an invisible man up there who's watching everything you're doing, why can't there be aliens? All that said, I still thought it was a relatively weak movie. ![]() |

Crystal alien skulls make as much sense as a cosmic Jewish zombie who was his own father that can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and drink his blood and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in all humans because a woman made from a rib was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree and thereby pissing off an invisible wizard who lives in the sky.

Lucas is a Jew, so I doubt his aim was to make a Christian movie.
And with the 3 new starwars that came out + this cartoon one, + Indy 4 ( all of his new work sucked ).. He just wants more money. He dosnt care about his fans anymore. |

Well my point about the Indy movie is that in the Indy world aliens are not that unbelievable to people who don't believe in religion.
But I 100% agree that Lucas has lost his way. There's a posting that shows an interview with him back in the early 80's where he says (I'm paraphrasing) "Sci-fi movies aren't about the landscapes and using effects to tell the story." And then it's followed by a more recent interview where he says "I really want the landscape to tell the story." It's pretty funny. If you haven't seen Adywan's Star wars 4: Revisited fan edit -- you're missing the real way to see ep. 4. I'm not a fan of fan edits, but if Lucas had done what Adywan did, I'd forgive just about everything else Lucas has done to bastardize our beloved characters. I had to watch Adywan's movie twice in a row, I was just so amazed. The escape from the death star sequence was one in particular where afterword, I'm wondering why I'm out of breath and then I realize that I was so caught up in it that I was ACTUALLY HOLDING MY BREATH during a scene I've seen maybe 500 times. I'll never watch ep. 4 again without it being the revisited edit. |

Well when you have as near to a bottomless bank account as you can really get. Why should you care anymore (obviously you should but for the sake of argument).
