No one will be turned away in the US with a life threatening illness. The county / general hospitals will service ANYONE with or without insurance.

Claiming that people cannot get care without insurance is a fallacy. They just don't get care that is as good as someone that pays for it.

Typically, they get the same kind of care that someone else would. They, however, don't get the same payment options, discounts, etc, that someone with insurance or better insurance might get.

The hospital system I work for is non-profit. We will treat anyone for anything and not turn anyone away. We'll still bill you and turn you to collections, but it doesn't mean we won't treat whatever you have.

The US actually has it pretty good on lines with healthcare depending on where you go, what you have, and what you're willing to do. There are a lot of state funded options (Medicare/Medicaid) and several low income clinics (in our state, OU/OSU Student Medical Clinics) that work with what you have.

This debate is too nitpicky since I work in the field, but we aren't as bad off as Moore presents us being. Very biased film.

I poor kid needing a heart transplant most likely will not get one in time unless they have insurance or money. The US health care system sucks. Gives almost all the power to the rich and the medical companies. At the same time I still think the movie was retarded and one sided. While we have a lot of faults oh well. So does every other system. If every other country had mass immigration issues. They might see dramatic rise in the medical issues that we see.

Hah...I actually considered typing out my long experience with Worker's Comp but then I remembered that your opinion doesn't matter enough to justify it. So I decided to point at you and laugh instead. In a few hours time over dinner, if I can remember I'll also tell my wife about it because I know she'll enjoy the laugh as well.

Not likely JJ, anyone who's ever been through Worker's Comp here knows exactly what I'm saying. You could spend some time looking it up, but why would you do that when you could just bash people for the hell of it? I'm sure it would be much less entertaining for you even if it was informational. 7 months and counting still waiting for an operation on my shoulder as soon as Worker's Comp decides that they'll let the 3 doctors that have all said I need it actually do the operation. Had I been on at the very least, my own private insurance....it'd have been taken care of a long time again.

So I'll make this short and sweet...you're just an ass on the internet...you are ignorant of Worker's Comp cases...So I'm not really overly concerned with anyone's opinion on it. I'm living it right now, I'll rely on my own experiences if that's not too much trouble for you JJ, I know you have difficulty with people who don't need your help just to live day to day but I'm sure you'll get over it. =D
