Dracho is on a distinguished road
Just saw the movie. Let me say first that as far as big production movies go, I stay far away from them. I prefer the obscure well-written and non predictable type of movies (i.e. usual suspects, Pi, Memento etc)

That being said, this move was awesome. Effects were the best I have ever seen and just one word : amazing. Every special effect seemed real and it never felt like a super hero type of movie.. it felt possible (if that makes sense)

I cant remember the last movie that got me saying "wow, that is freakin cool" this many times.

I was a little disappointed in the final fight, but it still was good. Great movie and definately a must see. For all ages too.

How does it compare to transformers? I'm trying to get my wife to go see it and she loved transformers.

I thought this was better just cause it felt more "humanlike. Its got a small love story but doesnt focus on it. It has a ton of action but also gives you breaks. Great one liners too lol. Like I said before, I loved it because the "superhero" seemed like he was a superhero that could be created in todays world (or at least close) as opposed to x-ray vision and stuff like that.

Just saw it, and I have to say that while I paid $10, I would have been willing to pay $20 to see a movie that great.

The movie had an amazing sense of humor, above all else. Robert Downey Jr. was brilliant -- he had the attitude down pat, even better than what the trailers had led me to expect. I agree with Dracho, though...one of the most amazing things about the movie, for me, was that they didn't overdo things. The CGI was great, but they didn't get him into the suit and then never go back. The romance was there, but they didn't try to make it take up more time than it should have. The cast had a great chemistry...Stark and Stane, Stark and Rhodes -- the relationships in the movie didn't feel put on. Like everything else in the movie, the interactions between the people felt truly genuine.

The one complaint that I've heard people voice is that they thought that the final fight was a bit disappointing. My own opinion is that the final fight was, unlike many superhero movies, very tastefully done -- in the same way as the rest of the movie, it was not overdone. While recent superhero movies like Spiderman, X-Men, or Batman Begins have conditioned people to think of final fights as epic conflicts that affect entire cities, Iron Man's finale is done in a (sort of) small manner. I liked this, because it allows for a series where the final fights don't have to keep getting bigger and bigger in order to top the immensity of the previous ones. It seemed like it held true to the comic book form.

Final opinion: I don't think that they could have done much of anything to make this movie any better. I would put it in the same class, quality- and entertainment-wise, as Transformers (and certainly the best superhero movie in years) but with the caveat that here, unlike most movies of this genre, is a film with some actual depth.

If you're a super nerd, the last scene at the end was the best out of the entire movie.

But really the whole movie was amazing.

Its more then a trilogy, I would look at it more like 3 chapters. They are trying to work it so they can tie all the super hero movies together with same actors over the next few years.
