MMOBugs Stance on GhostKilling

This plugin is not offered, condoned, or supported on this site. Please take related discussions to where you bought your plugin.

After hearing opinions from our lifetime members, and discussing the topic with our developers we have come to a conclusion on MMOBugs stance relating to ghostkill plugins.

At this stage in time the MMOBugs development team has no plans of working on or releasing plugins that allow you to kill mobs with little to no risk to your character. The following are the four main reasons for this stance.

1. Security: We have no solid way of stopping the plugin from being passed out to friends/family/guild members. Each time we released a new version it spread like the plague.

2. Damage: The last time ghostkill became widespread it wreaked havoc on the economy and on the game. Plat prices have hit an all time low from the last ghostkill outbreak, and don't look to be recovering. Ghostkilling annoyed thousands of legitimate EQ players when their raid mobs were being ganked by single players.

3. MQ2 Awareness: It's no secret that the recent changes introduced to try and break MQ2 forever were because ghostkilling was getting out of hand. The MMOBugs developers have spent countless hours trying to get many of our plugins back in a working condition. We all don't want to see these base plugins broken forever. If ghostkilling gets out of hand again it will provoke SoE to try and break MQ2 again, and this time they may be successful.

4. Account Safety: There have been a very high amount of accounts banned for ghostkilling. Everyone that has used these sorts of plugins knows the risk involved with them. We feel it is irresponsible to release hazardous plugins and macros when we know the extreme risk the end user takes.

I know this will upset many people here and I apologize for having to take this stance on the issue, but it is what's best for the community as a whole.
