Chat box gone?
If I missed it somewhere forgive me.
That chat box at the top of my forums is just, gone..........
Whats up with that?

The server is currently being hammered from members logging in to check on the status of the compile. During patch days, it helps your load times for us to disable the chatbox. During high traffic times, expect to see this more in the future. We apologize, and offer IRC as an alternative place to chat while you hang out at MMOBugs.

Typically I could see removing the chat box if we had a compile but no compile to be downloaded chat box bandwidth shouldn't effect anything else to the point of needing to turn it off. Kill the music before the chat box.

to add to what Anthrax said, its not just about speed.. the chatbox causes the server to literally *choke* from the traffic

Then you get everybody bitching that the forums are down.

no mq no chatbox don't you all understand the chatbox was a place to share misery of not having mq it was a coping place where addicts go to share there stories and relate-relax while mq is being fixed.

what you're describing is irc, not the chatbox.
