i had an account with windstream or some such service for a while, they had a website that shows my account info. that is what i was refering to. something that dosnt require any human involvement. even my cell phone company has the option for me to check my usage ..

I haven't used Linksys in a while now, but when I did, I used Sveasoft firmware (http://www.sveasoft.com). Really nice firmware, and pretty cheap. From what I remember, I could go to the web management interface & pull reports any time I wanted (by IP, protocol, etc.).

I'd have to add another vote for dd-wrt. I use it on a Linksys WRT54G/v7 Works excellent.
Traffic shaping is a big plus so I can configure a certain amount for voip even when I'm downloading stuff. |

Yeah, unfortunately, my model isn't a "v2", it's actually called "WRT54G2"
