What is a Kingston q6600? Do you mean Intel Q6600 and Kingston ram? Or did you mean GSkill ram and an Intel Q6600 proc?

Well, I'm getting tired of dealing with this crap (its still doing it, btw) ... so I've gotten to the point where I'm seriously considering breaking down and buying a new comp.
I'll hijack my own thread and ask what you guys think about this... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1213047092873 I'm probably going to pull my vid card out of my old comp because it's significantly better than the piece of shit that comes with the comp. I'm also going to attempt to pull my HD out of my old comp and put it in the new one so I could transfer over files that I don't want to lose (aka porn, mq2 files, and EQ files, mostly). How does this plan sound? |

If you are going to use your other video I really would just build a comp for 500$. What processor is in the one you are going to replace?

I don't even know offhand... nothing impressive. It's not a duo or quad core.
While I could build... I've never done it before and I'm almost thinking I'd just pay for the convenience of not having to. |

just get a barebone system and build off that they are cheap and you can get them almost anywhere.

Sum1, if you have enough knowledge to replace the power supply you could build with no problems.
But if you're not into that I agree w/ Hostagecs. You'd get alot more bang for your buck getting a solid barebones system offa e-bay or someplace online then canabilizing what you have then adding what you need from there. BB

I'm taking this pos back... it works ok, but there's a reason why it was so cheap. The configurations are crap, the psu is only like 170W, and despite the 4gb of RAM the system doesn't really seem to perform all that well.
Guess that's what I get. Taking it back tomorrow. I'm looking at something from cyberpowerpc.com right now. |

that 15% restock fee going to blow balls. Cash back gets nailed hard core. If you do exchange for other BB items, you wont get raped. Could even get some pc parts so you can skimp or not add them to your one getting built.
get the velociraptor 300gig drive that eat up 320$ of the 500ish G15 keyboard another 80$ g15 Mouse another 50$ think thats about all I would get from best buy unless you are going to upgrade video cards now as well. then just get the velociraptro + a 4870

It mentions the 15% restock fee on notebook computers, but nothing about desktops. If they try to hit me on that I'll bring that up... not that I expect it to work. I already have a G15 keyboard, and a pretty sweet mouse that I like (MS Natural Wireless Mouse 6000... took some getting used to, but now I like it). Maybe I'll ask the wife if there's anything she wants from BB to try to mitigate the amount of cash I get taken for. She was looking at some headphones and a new cell phone. I ended up building a pretty nice system from cyperpowerpc for not too much more than what I paid from BB... I've purchased from them before and was very happy with it. |
