ps3 graphics blow the 360 out of the water, but ps3 online is absolute garbage. if you have the choice, go with the 360 for xbox live play always.
what you are saying about the missed note recovery (360) is dead on. it is majorly annoying and can cost you a failure if it happens at the wrong time. hopefully the wired guitar that will shop with Rockband is going to make this game better for the 360, and make there be no advantage to the ps3 version.
i liked the battle mode because it put a new spin on gameplay. for you bandfags it may suck - but not everyone hates it ><
