Late 80's.

Metal, Rock, etc. Anything with good guitars, drums, keyboards, and of course vocals (whether it's screaming or the norm).

In Flames - Trigger, Mudvayne - Pharmaecopia, Children of Bodom - Bodom Beach Terror, Limp Bizkit - Rollin', Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls, Disturbed - The Sickness, Dimmu Borgir - Kings of The Carnival Creation, Slipknot - The Heretic Anthem, etc.
